01 · The setup

A community launch is already an event. The sweepstakes made it unmissable.

AI Universa is Slovenia's largest AI community — 1,700+ members building together every week. Launches for a community that engaged don't need attention from scratch; they need a reason for everyone to act now, in the same five-day window. That's exactly the job a legally structured sweepstakes does best.

Launch one — the prize table

A 15,000 EUR prize pool built as a table, not a single prize:

  • Rolex Datejust — the headline piece
  • MacBooks — the aspirational middle tier
  • iPhones — enough of them that winning felt reachable

Launch two — the grand prize

A brand-new Renault Clio 2026 — one prize everyone in the market understands, photographs well, and gets talked about far beyond the community itself.

02 · The EU legal angle

Same mechanic as the US — different rulebook.

In Europe a promotion becomes illegal gambling when prize, chance, and payment combine. The campaign stays legal because entries ride along with a normally-priced purchase — never a surcharge — and a genuinely free entry route with equal odds exists and is disclosed.

What that meant in practice

Entries accompanied purchases at the normal price, with a free entry route published in the official rules — the structure that keeps a purchase-linked sweepstakes on the right side of EU promotional law.

GDPR shaped the entry form itself: participation consent and marketing consent as two separate, unticked checkboxes, and winner publicity handled as opt-in. The full country-by-country breakdown is in our European sweepstakes law guide.

“One launch in Slovenia brought in 820,000 EUR in just 5 days.”

03 · The campaign

The prize table was the marketing.

Every asset — landing page, emails, community posts — led with the prizes and the five-day window. The countdown did the urgency; the free-entry disclosure did the compliance; the community did the distribution.

04 · The other case study

Same playbook, different continent.

The US version of this system — a Black Friday Cybertruck sweepstakes that broke a streaming platform's all-time revenue records — is documented end to end, including the legal structure and the state-by-state rules.
